Bellator veteran Jessica Aguilar has taken the next step in her mixed martial arts career.

Aguilar, who many consider to be the No. 1 women’s strawweight in the world, has become the first female fighter to sign a contract with World Series of Fighting. Some fans may be upset as they were hoping to see “Jag” fight in Invicta FC. Personally I was hoping to see her rematch Invicta FC Strawweight champion Carla Esparza.

That said, this could be a good career move for Aguilar. It gives her the chance to become a face for a promotion that seems to grow with each event.

As far as competition goes, I would not be too worried for Jag as WSOF President has a long history in combat sports and has made numerous connections. Through one of these connections he could find good women fighters across the globe who could give Aguilar a decent challenge in the cage.

There is also a possibility that WSOF and Invicta FC could exchange talent in the future.
