Jonathan Quick left tonight’s contest between the Los Angeles Kings and the Buffalo Sabres with an apparent lower-body injury. He was sliding back to his left and seems to have tweaked his leg or ankle in some way. The Kings haven’t given an update on the netminder’s condition yet.
Here’s a GIF of the play.
Quick hasn’t been a key to the success for the Kings as he has been in season’s gone by, but Ben Scrivens isn’t exactly Mr. Reliable and Los Angeles has Stanley Cup aspirations. Again, the Kings haven’t released any information on the injured netminder, but he has forced to leave tonight’s contest with the Buffalo Sabres in overtime.
Few goalies thrive on the big moments like Quick, and it’s likely that he would have finished the game if he was able.
Kings say Jonathan Quick is being evaluated. No further update than that.

L.A. has a day off before they are back in action against the New York Islanders on Thursday and the New Jersey Devils on Friday.
That could set up an interesting situation if Quick is injured and sore for more than a few days. Would the Kings go to Scrivens in that scenario for the back-to-back? Or would they recall a netminder from the Manchester Monarchs or find a different option?
Some interesting scenarios could play out as we learn more about Quick’s injury.
