Through eight games this season, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights are fighting for bowl eligibility at 5-3 and have a chance to pick up that coveted sixth win of the season this week when they take on the Cincinnati Bearcats at home in an American Athletic Conference match up.

When they do take the field on Saturday inside High Points Solutions Stadium, they’ll be wearing specially designed helmets in honor of Military Appreciation Day:

In my opinion, these are one of the best designed helmets that I’ve seen recently. The worn-down look of the metal color on the lid comes across as a knight’s armor after doing battle, and the implementation of the American flag into it just makes it that much better.

Incredible gesture by the Scarlet Knights and the athletic program on this one.
