Holmes has missed a combined 17 games with injury the past two seasons after the team traded for him and gave him a $50 million contract extension once the Pittsburgh Steelers finally had enough of him. He;s also caught only 30 passes in the last eight games he’s managed to play in.

In Week 3, Holmes set a career high with 154 yards against the Bills, including the game-winning touchdown yards in the fourth quarter, so there’s still something left he can offer the Jets this year.
