With all of the controversy surrounding the Washington Redskins and the use of their nickname in regards to what it means to Native Americans, it’d be nice if someone around the world of sports could bring something of a positive nature to their culture.

Nike to the rescue.

In case you were unaware, November is Native American Heritage Month. To celebrate this, Nike has unveiled some pretty nice uniforms that a few college basketball squads will be donning on the court for some contests this month:

As you can see, the schools that will be representing are the Florida State Seminoles, the Nevada Wolfpack, the New Mexico Lobos and the Oregon State Beavers.

The new threads will be debuted beginning on November 17th and will be worn throughout the month.

Again, this is a great gesture as all the common sports fan hears about the Native American culture is the negative attention that’s surrounded the Redskins’ situation.

Kudos to Nike for doing this and the schools for participating.
