During the Central Florida Knight’s 19-14 victory over the Houston Cougars Saturday night, Central Florida wide receiver Breshad Perriman was carted off the field after being hit by Houston defensive back Zachary McMillan.
The injury obviously isn’t nearly as severe as it looked because the Knights believe they’ll have Perriman back Saturday.
“I would assume he’d be back this weekend,” Central Florida head coach George O’Leary told Paul Tenorio of the Orlando Sentinel. “Anytime you have a neck [or] head injury, it’s precautionary and they did what they had to get done to make sure it was nothing serious with him. … He was on the field today and hopefully he’ll be ready to go this week.”
On the season, Perriman, a sophomore, has 27 receptions for 567 yards and and one touchdown.
The 7-1, 17th-ranked Knights will be in Temple to take on the 1-8 Owls at noon EST Saturday.
