They signed head coach Art Briles to a contract extension, according to Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News.

Briles has led the Bears to a 8-0 record and a #5 ranking in the current BCS rankings.

Since leaving the Houston Cougars (where he went 34-28 in five season) for the Bears after the 2007 season, Briles is 41-30 in six seasons with the Bears. He helped put the Bears on the map by signing quarterback Robert Griffin III, who was previously committed to Briles at Houston.
