Last month, the UFC reported that Jon Jones will be taking on Glover Teixeira in the main event of the Super Bowl card at UFC 169 in February. The UFC even had an article regarding the news, but Dana White later rescinded the comments saying the fight was never finalized.
Since then, fans have wondered when Jones will get back inside the cage against Glover. Tonight, on UFC tonight, it was announced the Jon Jones will fight Glover Teixeira at UFC 170 on February 22nd. UFC tonight confirmed the news:

At first glance, this seems a little odd considering the fact that the duo could not fight earlier in the month at UFC 169 because Jones’ previous fight was brutal. UFC 169 will do just fine with Dominick Cruz’s return headlining the card against interim Bantamweight champion, Renan Barao. Featherweight champion, Jose Aldo, will face Ricardo Lamas in the co-main event of UFC 169 on Super Bowl weekend.
The Jones/Glover fight is just two weeks before the Alexander Gustafsson and Jimi Manuwa fight. Clearly, the UFC is looking to book the two in an epic rematch if they win their respective bouts. Both men will certainly have their hands full come early next year.
