Kevin Walter unlikely to play this season for Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans can’t seem to catch a break regarding the injury bug. It looked as though they were poised to make a run in the AFC South and at least have a winning record by season’s end, but a loss to the win;less Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday was a setback to say the least.

Then came word that quarterback Jake Locker was out for the year with a Lisfranc foot injury, leaving the team with a mediocre Ryan Fitzpatrick to carry them through the rest of the year.

His offensive weapons aren’t much to speak of either, especially at wide receiver. The team was hoping Kevin Walter would be healthy enough to come off the PUP at some point and upgrade that position, but it appears as though he won’t be healthy enough to play this year:

Apologies to Mr. Marcum, but maybe he should stick to writing about Big Blue sports, because he obviously doesn’t know much about the Tennessee Titans. First, WR is one of the strongest positions–Kendall Wright, Nate Washington, Justin Hunter, Delanie Walker, and the fallen-from-grace Kenny Britt. Even if he were to come of PUP, it is highly unlikely that Kevin Walter would break into the WR rotation. To consider him an upgrade at the WR position is to expose one’s lack of knowledge about professional football in general, and the Tennessee Titans in particular.
