Tanner Glass is the kind of guy that you want in the lineup for a game against your biggest rival, and the Pittsburgh Penguins will have the abrasive forward tonight when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers. There was some question about his availability over the last couple of days, but he’s ready for action.

Glass isn’t an offensive force by any means, but he doesn’t leave his mark on games via the score sheet. He’s tough to play against on every shift, and is a motor out on the ice for more than 11 minutes a night on average for this Pens team. Glass is one of the NHL’s most active hitters, and trails only Matt Martin of the New York Islanders in that department this season.
72 hits in 17 games is a monstrous total, and Glass has been more physical than the likes of more notorious hitters like Dustin Brown and David Backes this season. Again, he doesn’t have a huge offensive upside, but he’s an important part of this 11-6 Penguins squad.
They’ll be looking to avoid a three-game losing streak by taking down the Flyers tonight, while Philly is looking for three straight wins for the first time this season.
