Toney Douglas out with stress reaction

Toney Douglas is part of Warriors team that has looked go through the early part of the season. They aren’t relying on their bench much this year, as their starting 5 is so stout. Douglas is trying to fill the role that Jarrett Jack played last season, and those are big shoes to fill.

According to CSN Bay Area, it appears that Douglas won’t be giving them anything for a while:

Warriors backup point guard Toney Douglas will miss at least two weeks after team doctors examined him on Tuesday and diagnosed a stress reaction in his left tibia.

This shouldn’t matter a lot, as he has only played 16 minutes per game this season, but they will have to rely on guys who may or may not be ready. Stephen Curry will have to play more minutes, which may not be good if he re-injures his ankle. I’m sure they’re glad this happened early in the season, and not around playoff time.

It looks like Kent Bazemore will have to celebrate on the court instead of the bench now.
