This is just a friendly between two teams that have already clinched World Cup berths. With nothing on the line this might lack the entertaining competitive edge.

Still it is a good opportunity for young players to get some experience. It is also an opportunity for the teams to play nations they don’t normally face in their own conferences for some practical experience before the World Cup. Both teams are quality and have players you’d recognize.

“I’m not the match-winner, the team makes a difference. We played well,” Romelu Lukaku told Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad last month. “The players and I can finally stamp our personality on the team, I am proud.

“The last quarter we were difficult [to break down] but two years ago we could still have lost here 2-1. Now we have shown that we have a winning mentality.

“On Tuesday we play at home in the last match [against Wales] but it is certainly not a meaningless match. We will do everything to win.”
