Last week before
that horrible nightmare that we’ll never speak of again since it probably didn’t happen the Stanford Cardinal beat the Oregon Ducks, Portland resident B. Lou Speight went to go change the outfit on the stone duck in her front yard. Speight, age 83, graduated from the University of Oregon in 1956 and has dressed up her duck statue for over a decade to show her support for the school, but she was shocked to find that miniature fowl had been stolen.
Speight talked about the the crime to The Oregonian:
It’s like when someone steals your car. You stand there and stare at the empty space. The duck wasn’t worth a lot of money. But I’d like to get him back.
Let’s hope the jerk who stole Speight’s duck finds it in his/her heart to return the statue. If not, we’ll be putting Darkwing Duck on the case.
