Artem Anisimov scores weird goal for Columbus Blue Jackets (video)

If you’re looking for your odd goal of the week, Artem Anisimov and the Columbus Blue Jackets have you covered. In what amounts to something that looks like an occurrence ripped straight from one of the Mighty Ducks movies, the Jackets found the back of the net in an incredibly unlikely and strange fashion.

It’s tough to blame the Montreal Canadiens for standing around and shrugging after that puck somehow managed to cross the line.

Nikita Nikitin takes a pass, walks in from the blue  line and winds up to fire a bomb from the top of the left circle. He hits a divot in the ice or something and eats it in the process. The puck totally vanishes at that point and somehow ends up behind Montreal Canadiens netminder Peter Budaj.

OK, so the puck doesn’t vanish. Artem Anisimov takes a whack at it after Nikitin faceplants, and it pinballs through traffic and ends up in the net. As the saying goes, there is no such thing as a bad shot. At least in Anisimov’s case, since he managed to score here. Nikitin just looked silly in his attempt to get the puck to the net, so maybe there is such a thing as a bad shot after all.

One of the oddest looking goals you’ll see all year to be sure.
