For the second time in two years, Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will don the mask again after suffering another broken nose. The injury was suffered Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves when an opponent came down on his face with his arm and mostly his elbow. This has been a bizarre trend for the Cavs as they have had a parade of broken noses and facial masks including but not limited to Tristan Thompson and Anderson Varajao.
Irving is going to play tonight as the Cavs take on the Charlotte Bobcats. With the way their offense has played and the slump Irving has come out in this season, the Cavs and their fans have to hope that somehow, some way this broken nose can provide a spark and the Bobcats might provide an opponent to get well against. The Cavs and Irving were annihilated by the Timberwolves on Wednesday in embarrassing fashion in a game filled with highlight reel plays from the likes or Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio to the tune of 124-95 and the game was not even that close.
