The Cleveland Cavaliers shocked the basketball world earlier this year when they selected Anthony Bennett first overall in the 2013 NBA Draft.
It wasn’t that Bennett wasn’t worthy of such a selection, it was just nobody expected it. It was certainly a play big, lose big type of pick and through Bennett’s first handful of NBA games, well, things haven’t went so well.
The former UNLV product, who didn’t convert a basket through his first four NBA games and is currently shooting just 4 of 32 (good for 12%) decided to have a little fun at the end of his most recent game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, though it didn’t sit well with everybody.
After Bennett and his Cavaliers suffered a 29-point loss, the rookie grabbed the ball after the final buzzer had sounded and decided to randomly dunk the rock.
As players were walking off the floor, Minnesota’s Gorgui Dieng stood with the ball on his hip, which lead to Bennett swiping the ball and powering up for the pointless dunk.
Ricky Davis is impressed.
