It would appear that someone has been made to be the eyes of blind superhero Matt Murdock. According to The Wrap, Drew Goddard, who wrote films like World War Z and The Cabin in the Woods, is in negotiations to write the upcoming Daredevil series for Netflix and Disney.
According to the report, when asked for comment on the matter, Goddard’s rep replied with “no comment”, and representatives for Netflix and Marvel have not responded to repeated requests for comment.
Goddard has written for many different projects, both television and motion picture. In addition to the aforementioned titles, he has also worked on shows like Alias and Lost, as well as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel with Marvel collaborator Joss Whedon.
As we previously reported, Disney and Netflix have partnered together to develop four new live-action superhero series surrounding the superheroes of Hell’s Kitchen; Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, all of which will culminate in a mini-series event entitled The Defenders.
As most of you already know, Daredevil follows the adventures of blind superhero Matt Murdock. The character was previously portrayed on the big screen by Ben Affleck in the 2003 film Daredevil, which was directed by Mark Steven Johnson.
There is currently no definitive start date announced for any of the upcoming titles; however, they are slated to begin on Netflix sometime in 2015.
