Today, the people at Summit Entertainment announced that their upcoming film Hercules: The Legend Begins is getting an earlier release date.
Let’s completely ignore the fact that the film’s release date was officially announced just 3 whole days ago.
As we previously reported, the film was originally supposed to be released on February 7, 2014. The studio has rethought their plan, and now the film is scheduled to be released in both 3D and conventional theaters on January 10, 2014.
The film, which is being directed by The Long Kiss Goodnight director Renny Harlin and stars Twilight actor Kellan Lutz in the title role, will be based in Ancient Greece around 1200 B.C. Hercules will be faced with a choice, flee the land with the true love of his life, Hebe, or stay behind and become the true hero of his time.
The executive producers for the film are Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, John Thompson, and co-excutive producer Lonnie Ramati. Boaz Davidson, Renny Harlin, Danny Lerner, and Les Weldon are serving as producers along with co-producers Jonathan Yunger, Nikki Stanghetti, and Gisella Marengo.
Each of the producers listed above, with the exception of Stanghetti and Marengo, worked together on the film Expendables 2.
Hercules: The Legend Begins is scheduled to be released on January 10, 2014.
