No, Kobe Bryant isn’t returning to the Los Angeles Lakers tomorrow or even next week – but his return is getting closer and closer.
The NBA icon took part in shooting drills with the team Friday morning, though, he was clearly still less than himself as Bryant did so from an unset position, this according to Mike Bresnahan:
Mild Kobe progress. Is he still shooting “tippy-toe” set shots? D’Antoni: “Tippy-toe? That’s cute. Maybe a little bit more than tippy-toe.”
Bryant has taken shots from his ‘tippy-toe’ stance in recent days/weeks but seems to be progressing to a more traditional form along with some lateral movement, which can only be seen as good new for Bryant and the Lakers.
Kobe still hasn’t been cleared for any basketball activities so shooting jumpers is about the full extent of his arsenal for now.
Regardless, cleared to practice or not, Bryant seemingly makes more and more progress by the week and it’s seemingly just a matter of time now until Bryant is back practicing and eventually playing in game action.
