Defense is starting to rear its head in the American Airlines Arena between the Miami Heat and the visiting Dallas Mavericks.

One player that has really stepped up for the defending champs has been Michael Beasley. Just when people were ready to break out their permanent markers and write him off as a bust, his play this season thus far has made it seem as if some new life has been breathed into the career of the former Kansas State star.

In the first half against the Mavs tonight, he showcased both his defensive and offensive skills all in one play.

As the Mavs were bringing the ball up, Beasley and a teammate trapped the ball handler. Mere seconds later, Beasley grabbed to ball and took off the other way, where there was nothing but an open hoop in front if him: beasley

Beasley keeps progressing the way he is this year, and this team will be a lot more dangerous than they already are.
