Philadelphia 76ers' Michael Carter-Williams in walking boot

Averaging 17.4 points, 7.6 assists and 5.4 rebounds through the first eight games of an NBA season is impressive for anybody, let alone a rookie. But that’s exactly what Philadelphia 76ers first year player Michael Carter-Williams  has done, as he’s took the league by storm.

Unfortunitly, Carter-Williams found out how quickly the tide can turn in the league as he went from SportsCenter highlights to being planted on the bench thanks to injury, an injury that apparently has MCW in a walking boot – this according to Molly Sullivan:

MCW, w/ walking boot on L foot, doing a sit-down for @NBATV Inside Stuff (my favorite show growing up…this is all Summer & Ahmad’s fault).

The Sixers take on the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night and it’s obviously unlikely that Carter-Williams will take the floor, considering he’s spending his afternoon in a walking boot.

The team has yet to give an official update on Carter-Williams’ status, so he hasn’t officially been ruled out as of yet but clearly the walking boot isn’t a good sign as he deals with an arch injury in his left foot.
