While Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Arthur Jones may not have the popularity in his sport that his brother Jon Jones, the UFC light heavyweight champion does in his, but people are going to be very familiar with Jones this offseason when he becomes thrown into the free agency mix.

Jones is a talented, versatile player that is going to be able to fit in any system, which will allow him to be one of the most highly sought after guys on the market.

Sure, there will be bigger names, but Jones is going to find himself attracting plenty of attention which could start a bidding war that leads to a nice payday. At least that is what people are beginning to anticipate.

“I could definitely see Arthur Jones getting a nice payday,” said former NFL agent Joel Corry, who now writes for National Football Post. “A good, young defensive lineman in his prime is hard to find.”

Jones would prefer to stay with the Ravens when his one-year free agent tender is up, but he understands players will not always get to finish their career where they started.

“Unfortunately, I know the business side of it,” said Jones, via the Baltimore Sun. “Hopefully, I’m here. If not, I’m always going to love this team. This team is my first love. I’m excited, but I try not to think too much about it.

“Sometimes, you can think about it too much and tend to outplay yourself by trying to do too much. I’m enjoying my time right now playing on the Ravens’ defense. The future, it’s kind out of my control.”

There is still close to two months remaining in the season, so Jones still has plenty of time to continue making an impact and to do what he can to lock up a big payday next spring.
