Earlier this week, current New Orleans Saints QB Drew Bree offered up some of his thoughts on Texas A&M Aggies QB, Johnny Manziel. Those words were more than positive as Brees made mention that he absolutely believes Manziel can succeed at the professional level.
Welcome praise from a Super Bowl-winning signal caller. But, how about a three-time Super Bowl winner at QB? What does someone with that kind of accomplishment think about the future prospects of the most polarizing figure in college football?
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman gave his opinion on Johnny Football at the next leveL, and once again, there was nothing but good things to say:
“I got a chance to see his game against Alabama from start to finish and I was really impressed with a lot of the throws that he made,” Aikman said. “There’s no doubt in my mind that with his playmaking ability, he was doing it last year as a freshman against good competition, I would anticipate that he will (be drafted) relatively high. Whether or not he’ll be a first-round pick, I don’t know, but I think he’ll be successful when he gets his opportunity.”
As we get closer to the end of the 2013 college football season, we’re coming closer and closer to the end of Johnny Football at the collegiate level, as we most assume. So, it’s interesting to hear the opinions of guys that have had tremendous success in the NFL being so positive.
