Blackhawks added Marian Hossa to late scratches with injury

The Chicago Blackhawks have decided to scratch Marian Hossa from tonight’s lineup. From Eric Shingle of ESPN Chicago,

Kris Versteeg earned a surprise promotion to the top line in his first game back with the Chicago Blackhawks after Marian Hossa was a late scratch from Saturday night’s game against the Nashville Predators with a lower-body injury.

Hossa made the trip to Nashville with the team and was on the ice for the Blackhawks’ morning skate, but it was Versteeg, newly acquired from the Florida Panthers via trade on Thursday, who manned the right wing alongside Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp at the opening faceoff.

The Blackhawks are currently losing to the Predators 2-0, but they are only through he first period. Chicago currently has a record of 13-2-4, and sit in first place in the Central division.

Hopefully Hossa is able to get back on the ice for the Blackhawks sooner rather than later, as he has had quite an impact with the organization.
