The Chicago Cubs have a lot of promising prospects in their farm system who are close to being Major League ready.

Third baseman Kris Bryant is one of those players, but could be called up to the Majors at some point this season. Bryant was Chicago’s second overall pick in this years MLB Amateur Draft and is a piece this team needed.

Bryant has everything this team is looking for in a third baseman. The 6’5, 215 pound right handed hitter out of Las Vegas, Nevada along side Anthony Rizzo is the future of this Chicago Cubs baseball team. Now I’m a Cubs fan myself and reading or hearing about this guy gives me goose bumps.

Pretty soon this team is going to be stacked with the young talent they have in the Minors, but in the Majors.

Bryant tore up the Fall League this season as the 21 year old hit .364/.457/.727 with six home runs and 17 RBI’s in just 20 games in Arizona. He also hit .336/.390/.688 with nine home runs and 32 RBI’s in just 36 games between three different Minor League levels.

As much as I like Luis Valbuena holding down third base, I can’t wait for this kid to make his Major League debut.
