The Auburn Tigers pulled off one of the more improbable comeback wins of the year on Saturday when they were able to use a Hail Mary at the end of the fourth quarter to defeat the Georgia Bulldogs, 43-38.
From Georgia’s standpoint, you really can’t be too hard on QB Aaron Murray for the loss. Once again, the SEC’s all-time leading passer was fantastic. He was 33-of-49 for an eye-popping 415 yards and two touchdowns.
He also had a five-yard touchdown run with just under two minutes to go in the fourth quarter to give the Dawgs the lead, and what they thought at the time was the win.
But, in the end, it wasn’t enough as Auburn was able to fight back and complete that Hail Mary play, thus adding to the 2013 heartbreak of this Georgia team that had such high hopes coming into the season.
And Murray was none too happy about it, obviously:
Yeah, that’d be enough for me to slam my nice white hat off the grass too, Aaron. I don’t blame you.
