Knicks’ Mike Woodson to JR Smith: ‘No team is going to want to deal with you’

We’re just a few weeks into the NBA season and New York Knicks swingman J.R. Smith has already missed five games for violating the league drug abuse policy and has received a $25,000 fine for a ‘hostile’ verbal lashing directed towards Brandon Jennings.

Needless to say, it’s not the first time Smith has found himself in the center of controversy, a message that head coach Mike Woodson attempted to deliver to Smith when he told him ‘eventually no team is going to want to deal with you’ if Smith continues down this road:

Mike Woodson was “not happy” with J.R. Smith for his tweets directed at Pistons guard Brandon Jennings, and he said that if Smith keeps putting himself in these positions, “eventually no team is going to want to deal with you.”

Talent hasn’t ever been a question for Smith, rather, his inability to play within a team system and his off-court issues continue to plague the Knicks wing.
