One of kickboxing’s hottest prospects is looking to win his first world championship.
Raymond “The Real Deal” Daniels is one of the four participants in the Glory World Lightweight championship tournament at Glory 13, Dec. 21, in Tokyo. Other participants include in the tournament include: Joseph Valtellini, Karapet Karapetyan and Nieky Holzken.
Despite only having three professional fights, Daniels had a successful run during his amateur kickboxing run, winning over 16 fights. He also has a fifth degree black belt in Taekwondo, sixth degree black belt in Shotokan and sixth degree black belt in American Kenpo.
Daniels will face Valtellini in the semifinals of the tournament. Valtellini has a record of 10-0, with nine knockouts and has won championships at the amateur and professional level. If Daniels gets past Vatellini, he will face the winner of Karapetyan and Holzken. Karapetyan has over 40 wins on his record with, with four knockouts while Holzken has 82 wins with 43 knockouts.
Throughout the history of combat sports, there have been stories of upcoming fighters who have defied the odds and become champions. Daniels has a chance to do just that at Glory 13.
