For the first time this season, New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson will take the court as the ‘big’ man makes his season debut on Saturday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Anderson, who was acquired by the Pelicans in 2012 suffered a fractured toe on October 30th and has been unable to play, that is, until tonight:

It’s been a rough few months for Anderson, who in addition to the broken toe, had to deal with the loss of his longtime girlfriend who passed away after committing suicide during the offseason.
The sharp shooting forward had attempted to return earlier than the anticipated prognosis date, but struggled in one-one-one and three-on-three matchups, suggesting the pain was too prevalent to play.
Anderson, who started 22 games for the Pelicans last season put up 16.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in just 30.9 minutes per game.
It’s been an injury plagued start to the season for the Pelicans, who’ve also missed their star offseason acquisition, Tyreke Evans, for a handful of games.
