The UFC 167 prelims have begun with some solid fights. Erik Perez put in a fantastic performance against Edwin Figueroa to get the unanimous decision victory. Rick Story dominated Brian Ebersole en route to a unanimous decision as well.
Brian Ebersole vs. Rick Story
Ebersole looks for a quick takedown, but gets stuffed. Story is throwing some heavy leather to start this fight. Big left hand tags Ebersole. Ebersole is having difficulty striking with Story. A big left landed for Story in a solid exchange with about a minute to go. Round 2 began with hard left kick by Story. Rick Story is tagging Ebersole and stuffing all of his takedowns. Story is out-striking Ebersole. Ebersole did land a decent step-in elbow. With about 90 seconds to go a big body shot lands for Story. Story stuns Ebersole with a a big right in the final ten, and they have the best exchange of the entire fight as the bell sounds. Round 3 starts with a quick takedown from Story, but Ebersole is quick to get up after eating a big haymaker. Ebersole is once again showing how durable a fighter he is, but he is losing this fight. Story is just peppering Ebersole with right hooks. A big low kick completely buckles Ebersole, but he survives. Moments later, another two leg kicks from Story has Ebersole falling to the mat. Story lands some ground and pound as the fight ends. Strong performance from Rick Story.

Edwin Figueroa vs. Erik Perez
The fight began with an accidental low blow by Erik Perez. It was direct contact to the cup, and looked really bad. On the restart Erik showed off some striking including a solid front kick that knocked Edwin on his back. Perez caught a kick and took down Edwin with two minutes to go in the round. It was very strong round by Perez. A huge right hand lands for Perez to start round 2 that drops Edwin! Edwin answers with a hook and uppercut. Perez slams Figueroa hard! After getting to his feet, Figueroa is landing very wide haymakers. Perez gets another takedown with 90 seconds to go in round 2. Winslow stands Perez up with 10 seconds to go even though he was setting up the arm triangle. Terrible stand up right there by Kim Winslow. The third round started with some solid exchanges. Perez just misses a spinning hook kick, but lands a big takedown. Perez completely dominated the entire round with top control. A knee and a right hand hurt Edwin with 30 seconds to go. The fight ends standing, and it should be a win for Erik Perez. Very strong performance by Erik Perez.
