There are three things in life that are a guarantee. Death, taxes and the Wisconsin Badgers will always be good at running the ball.
Today, against the Indiana Hoosiers, everyone expected the Badgers to have yet another great day on the ground, and they are.
In the first half alone in this Big Ten contest, Wisconsin has rushed for 323 yards against this lackluster Indiana defense. Regardless, though, of how bad the Hoosiers’ defense is, this is still impressive. The Badgers lead 27-0 at the break.
Both Melvin Gordon and James White have been carving up the Indiana defensive unit. Through the first 30 minutes of play, White has 176 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown. Gordon has added 120 yards on 10 carries, and also has found the end zone once.
Through the last few weeks, Wisconsin has been one of the hottest teams in the nation, and it’s because of the play of this duo. Week in and week out these guys are turning in performances like this.
It’ll be interesting to keep an eye on how many yards they end up with when all is said and done.
