The Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Ravens are battling at Soldier Field right now, and the Ravens currently hold a 10-0 lead after a dominant first quarter by the Baltimore ground game. But the game is now under a weather delay due to severe storms and the threat of tornadoes.

And this report is courtesy of WGNTV:

"The hazardous weather outlook covers the following Illinois counties: Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Lake, Cook, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy, Will, Kankakee, Livingston, Iroquois and Ford. The agency also has issued a wind advisory for 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday for all of those counties but Lake, McHenry, Boone, Winnebago and Ogle. That advisory warns of southwest winds gusting at up to 45 m.p.h. before they turn west later in the day."

Soldier Field fans were instructed to clear the stadium seating area and relocate to the nearest covered concourse with 4:51 left in the first quarter. Referee Gene Steratore says “game will be temporarily suspended”. The public address announcer said that “although there appears to be no immediate danger” to fans, they were required to leave their seats and get to the covered concourses.

The game will be delayed for at least 30 minutes, but arly indications are this delay will go at least 45 minutes if not longer. It could last for longer than that. It’s very possible that this game could get delayed and finish after the 4 p.m. games. That’s what happened earlier this year between the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
