The Oakland Raiders will start undrafted rookie Matt McGloin at quarterback today. Starting quarterback Terrelle Pryor has been battling knee issues and was ruled out of today’s game. Pryor encountered a setback on Friday.

The Raiders coaching staff are really high on McGloin and according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, they “love him.” They will use today’s game as an opportunity to gauge where he is at, and possibly to decide whether he can supplant Pryor as the starter.

In one game this season, McGloin has completed 7 of 15 passes for 87 yards.

McGloin played college football at Penn State. In his senior season he completed 60.5 percent of his passes for 3,271 yards, 24 touchdowns and only five interceptions. If he could complete 60.5 percent of his passes for the Raiders today he might make a case to be the starter.
