Adding to what has been an incredible year for Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr, he has also accepted an invite to attend this year’s Senior Bowl.  The Bulldog quarterback is a dark horse for the Heisman Trophy, is leading an undefeated team with aspirations of not only winning the Mountain West Conference in back to back years, but also with the goal of going to a BCS Bowl.

Carr has thrown for an impressive 3,421 yards and 32 touchdowns against just 4 interceptions with 2 rushing touchdowns in 9 games while leading one of the most potent passing attacks in the country.  In the process, he has set a number of school records.  The Fresno State Bulldogs are 9-0 and had a week off to prepare to take on New Mexico this week in what will be Carr’s last regular season home game.

As excited as Carr is for his success on the field, the best thing that has happened for him this year was the birth of his son, Dallas, who had to have three surgeries.  Those surgeries, having gone successful, his son is at home and healthy, which has made everything else that much more satisfying this year.

Carr is the first quarterback to have publicly received and accepted an invite to Mobile.  He also might have the inside track to be the first senior quarterback selected in this year’s NFL Draft.
