The folks over at Bovada have once again been kind enough to send over their current Heisman Trophy odds.
Florida State Seminoles’ quarterback Jameis Winston continues to hold a fairly big lead, although he has seen that lead slip some. Despite the allegations that Winston is involved in a sexual assault case from December of 2012, the redshirt freshman signal-caller went 19-of-21 for 277 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while playing just a half in a 59-3 win over the Syracuse Orange.
Last year’s winner, Texas A&M Aggies’ quarterback Johnny Manziel, has somewhat closed the gap on Winston. Winston’s odds dropped from 1/5 to 4/11 while Manziel’s went from 4/1 to 5/2 this week. Obviously, Winston’s sexual assault allegations have a lot to do with this, because he was fantastic on the field while Manziel and the Aggies had a bye week.
Both Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron and Baylor Bears’ quarterback Bryce Petty saw their odds improve during the week.
Below you can see each of the contenders’ odds from last week and their current odds.
Week 12 Current
Jameis Winston (QB Florida State) 1/5 4/11
Johnny Manziel (QB Texas A&M) 4/1 5/2
A.J. McCarron (QB Alabama) 7/1 13/2
