‘The Hobbit’: New Trailer for ‘Desolation of Smaug’

Yesterday, the people at Warner Bros. gave us yet another look inside the upcoming film The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug when they released the latest TV spot for the upcoming adventure.

In the trailer, we see many things, the first of which is the giant, menacing dragon known as Smaug. He informs young Bilbo that he has nowhere to hide.

In The Desolation of Smaug the dwarves, along with the great wizard Gandalf and their resident hobbit Bilbo, set out to reclaim their Lonely Mountain home from the grasp of Smaug, voiced by Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch.

While they are faced with many obstacles in their path, Bilbo is determined to continue the fight.

“I promised I would do this, and I think I must try.”

We will also see the beginnings of the effect the one ring is having on our Hobbit friend.

The Desolation of Smaug will also reunite us with an old friend. Well, a new friend if you are watching them in succession, but you know what I mean. Orlando Bloom will be reprising his role as the elven warrior Legolas.

We will also see the introduction of Tauriel, played by Evangeline Lilly. Tauriel was not a character from the book series by J.R.R. Tolkien, rather a character that was created specifically for the motion picture.

The trailer concludes with one of the best lines I have ever heard in a movie.

“If this is to end in fire, then we will all burn together.”

Leave it to Thorin Oakenshield to get all deep and meaningful on us.

Here is a look at the newest TV spot for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is scheduled to be released in Real D 3D, HFR 3D, and IMAX 3D on December 13, 2013.
