So a New York Knicks fan made a bet that the he could beat his friend in a game on NBA 2K13. The stipulations, that he had to out score his friend playing with the Miami Heat using only J.R. Smith.

Some how he actually won the game, and as a result won a $120 bet. He felt compelled to share his winnings with Smith, and mailed him a hand written letter with $60 included. Since Smith’s digital self helped him win the bet, he felt it was only right to split the pot.

Smith posted a picture of the letter with the cash on his Instagram account and wrote this for the caption: “Lmao love my fans! #FanMail.”

$60 isn’t a lot of money for Smith, which the fan mentions in his letter, but he did just get fined $25,000 for his Twitter comments. So he could use all the help he could get.
