Jason Kidd is searching for his fourth win tonight as the Brooklyn Nets head coach as they welcome in the 8-3 Portland Trail Blazers.
Now, regardless of the talent that he has on this team–and their ages–there’s no doubt that Kidd is going to suffer some growing pains in his first year as a head coach. It’s a different world running things from the bench than it is from the point.
Tonight, Kidd and his team opened up with a wide lead over the Blazers and seemed poised to run away with this one. However, this is the sport of basketball, so no lead is ever safe.
Portland fought back in the second quarter and Kidd–well, he was really confused as to why his team wasn’t as dominant as they were to open up the game:
These things are going to happen, Jason. You should know this.
It has gotten even worse now than the score above indicates. The Blazers have now pulled to within five in the second quarter.
