According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the suspension of Dashon Goldson has been upheld and he will be out for this week when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Detroit Lions.  The NFL reviewed and denied his appeal after he was suspended for an illegal hit against the Atlanta Falcons.

This result is not a huge surprise since Goldson had a similar circumstance in week two against the New Orleans Saints.  Goldson was initially going to be suspended for that hit, but appealed it and the league reduced it to a substantial $100,000 fine.

The Bucs are currently coming off of back to back wins and could have certainly used Goldson against the Lions this week as they go for a third straight.  The Lions have the combination of Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson and not having their talented free safety will make that matchup that much more difficult to defend.  With Goldson out, the likely replacement is Kelcie McCray, their second year safety out of Arkansas State.
