We’re getting closer to the end of the season and another exciting week of NFL action wrapped up. This was an incredible exciting week of football. After a long weather delay in Chicago, the Bears and the Ravens played out their game in a throwback muddy game. That game went to overtime, and the Bears finally got it done.

The New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers duked it out in the Superdome in game that had a thrilling, yet controversial finish. It was all about a penalty on Ahmad Brooks hit on Drew Brees. It was called a penalty, but he disagreed. The New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers game ended with a bit of controversy too. The Patriots were in position to score and Tom Brady’s final pass of the game was intercepted. They threw a flag for pass interference on the Panthers defense but waved it off and ended the game.

Amongst all that, there were some remarkable games and to honor all the outstanding individual performances this past weekend, we’ve passed out our own version of the weekly awards. We’ve selected these categories:

  • Rookie Defensive Player of the Week
  • Rookie Offensive Player of the Week
  • Special Teams Player of the Week
  • Defensive Player of the Week
  • Offensive Player of the Week

There were a lot of worth players, but not everyone could win. Let’s start with Rookie Defensive Player of the Week.
