Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza has been on a tear lately. Dating back to Strikeforce, Jacare is on a 5 fight winning streak. His last victory, a TKO over Yushin Okami, was his best performance yet. Ever since his move over to the UFC, fans have been clamoring to see the Brazilian in action.
Today, it was announced that Jacare will be taking on Francis Carmont in a Middleweight tilt. The fight will be on February 15th in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil at a UFC Fight Night. This fight will be the co-main event of the evening. The main event will be another Middleweight battle, between Gegard Mousasi and Lyoto Machida. UFC News broke the exciting match-up on Twitter:

Carmont is currently on a 6 fight win streak inside the Octagon, but not without controversy. His decision wins over Lorenz Larkin and Tom Lawlor were extremely close, and many fans believe he lost both fights. In his last fight, against Costa Philippou, Carmont completely dominated and neutralized Costa on the mat. He likely won’t have the same success against the powerful grappler in Jacare.
This card was originally scheduled for February 8th, but was pushed back a week for reasons unknown as of now.
