UCLA starting offensive tackle Torian White has been suspended indefinitely after an arrest this past weekend. White was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault at 3am on Sunday morning. Head coach Jim Mora Jr. announced the suspension as a result of the arrest as they await more information.
Mora issued the following statement: “We are aware of the situation involving Torian White, and we take these accusations very seriously. Torian has been suspended from the team indefinitely while the legal process and student discipline process run their course. Due to the ongoing police investigation, we are unable to discuss this matter further at this time.”
White has not played since October third due to an injury he suffered in the Bruins win over Utah. He suffered a torn ligament and broken bone in his leg in the game against the Utes.
UCLA prepares to take on Arizona State this week in a game with huge implications within the PAC-12. The Sun Devils are 6-1 in the conference and leading the PAC-12 south with just UCLA and USC just a game behind, so this is a must win game for the Bruins.
