AJ McCarron on cover of latest Sports Illustrated

The Alabama Crimson Tide are still the No. 1 team in the nation as they attempt to complete their quest for a three-peat. Leading the Crimson Tide offense is quarterback A.J. McCarron, who has been one of the best and most consistent signal-callers in the nation, as he continues to show why he is viewed as a capable NFL quarterback.

In his most recent honor, McCarron is featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated, as the magazine discusses whether or not McCarron should be viewed as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play in college football.

Here is a look at the cover of the upcoming issue of Sports Illustrated:

McCarron is currently one of the top players in the 2013 Heisman Trophy race. If he is able to take home the Heisman and capture his third national title, it would be hard to not consider McCarron among the greats.

Do you think McCarron is one of the best to ever play the game? Sound off in the comments section below.

He is definitely a great game manager. It’s hard to say whether he’s one of the best ever…but 2 national championships and a 3rd likely…it’s hard to argue otherwise. And this coming from a Mississippi State Bulldog.

Kind of says it all don’t ya think?

Not only does he manage the game with precision, he makes plays when it counts and comes up big in big time games. I think he is one of the best qb’s to ever play college football, not necessarily the most talented or gifted… but maybe the best ever to get the most from the talent he was given.
