Chicago Blackhawks recall Jeremy Morin due to Bryan Bickell injury

Rob Grabowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward Jeremy Morin from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL, which indicates that Bryan Bickell may be forced to miss some time after leaving Tuesday’s contest with the Colorado Avalanche. Bickell was driving hard to the net when he lost his edge and smacked his left long on the post.

He was able to skate off under his own power, but Bickell was clearly in pain following the collision.

It seems that Bickell could miss some time for Chicago, which prompted this call up of Morin.

Morin wasn’t particularly outstanding for Chicago through six games earlier in the season and only managed to post two assists. It seems that he’s found his A-game in the AHL though, and has six goals and five assists in the minors. The ‘Hawks will look to rebound from the 5-1 thrashing they took at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche on November 19 this week with contests against the Winnipeg Jets tomorrow and the Vancouver Canucks this weekend.
