Just a day after telling reporters he “could run in all conditions,” Detroit Lions’ running back Reggie has vowed not to fumble again in the 2013 season.

“Just not thinking enough. Not protecting the ball. Not being aware enough of my surroundings, protecting the ball,” Bush told Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com. “Actually, the last game, when I fumbled, I was protecting it as I was going down, I just didn’t squeeze it tight enough. That just comes with me mentally, constantly reminding myself, all week throughout practice, of making sure I’m high and tight, whether I’m going through the hole or whether it’s after practice I’m doing a couple extra drills, just little things like that.”

Bush has fumbled three times on the season, losing two.

“Those are the things that will help me to make sure that doesn’t happen again. And it won’t happen again,” Bush added.

Bush has 654 yards and two touchdowns on 145 carries and 366 yards and two touchdowns on 36 receptions in his first season with the Lions.

The Lions will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday at 1:00 pm EST.
