Gerald Wallace has been very outspoken this season. The Celtics are an abysmal 4-8, and have lost 4 straight. After last night’s loss to the Rockets, Wallace wasn’t too happy with the team. They started the game out down 18-1, and when asked about how that happened, Wallace said “I don’t know what the [expletive] tonight was.”
The NBA has now fined Wallace for his comments, and he is now out 10,000 dollars. Wallace was traded to the Celtics in the Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett trade with the Nets, and he went from a playoff team to a rebuilding project. He has called out his teammates for selfish play, and he overall seems unhappy in Boston.
The latest rumors say that he is on the market for teams to take him. His contract is probably too big to move, so don’t hold your breath. Wallace could serve as a veteran leader in a young locker room, but it seems as if he wants out. The Celtics are reeling, and the whole team is looking for answers.
