Northern Illinois head coach Rod Carey hilariously references kicker at halftime (Video)

The Northern Illinois Huskies are trying to remain unbeaten on Wednesday night so they can possibly make a return trip to the BCS.

Tonight’s opponent is the 7-3 Toledo Rockets, who aren’t exactly going to roll over and die in front of the defending conference champions. It’s going to be a tough one on the road tonight for head coach Rod Carey, Jordan Lynch and company.

So far, it has been anything but easy. The Huskies are up by just three points in the third quarter and they’re now going to look to hang on to those BCS hopes.

The first half, kicker Mathew Sims missed three field goals, which have put the Huskies in prime position for the upset.

On the walk to the tunnel for half time, Carey was asked about the kicker during his interview with ESPN, and when he got to that subject, he just said that he’ll let him figure it out on his own:
