Oklahoma Sooners suspend Damien Williams, Lacoltan Bester

Not only are the 20th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners starting redshirt freshman Trevor Knight at quarterback because of the concussion junior Blake Bell suffered in the Sooners’ 48-10 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones Saturday, but they will be without two other key offensive players this weekend.

According to Abigail Ogle of KOCO Channel 5 in Oklahoma City, running back Damien Williams and wide receiver Lacoltan Bester have been suspended for Saturday’s game against the Kansas State Wildcats.

Williams, a senior out of San Diego, California is the Sooners’ starting running back and leading rusher. Williams has rushed for 553 yards and seven touchdowns on 114 attempts and has caught nine passes for another 90 yards on the season.

Bester is also a senior and a starter. The 6’3, 195 lb. Scooba, Mississippi native has caught 20 passes for 279 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for 35 yards on his lone attempt.

The 8-2 Sooners and the 6-4 Wildcats will kickoff from Manhattan, Kansas at noon EST Saturday. The game is on Fox Sports 1.
