Once the clock hit all zeros last Saturday in the Auburn Tiger’s improbable comeback win with the Hail Mary over the Georgian Bulldogs, reality set in.
The upcoming Iron Bowl between Auburn and the rival Alabama Crimson Tide would be one of the most anticipated showdowns since 2010, as the game will now become the SEC West Championship Game. The winner of this one will be off to the Georgia Dome to play for the SEC Title, while the other will just have to sit back and wait for whatever bowl game they’re chosen to attend.
Because of this, this will be one of the hottest tickets around the Auburn area in quite some time. That also unfortunately means that some folks will be out of luck grabbing a ticket to sit inside Jordan-Hare Stadium to watch the historic event unfold.
Well, Auburn has a solution for that.
The school has announced that they will open up the basketball arena next Saturday where they will also broadcast the game. Admission will be free and the concession stands will be open for business. The arena will open up at 10am CT for the fans to start piling in before the 2:30pm CT kickoff between the Tigers and the Tide.
Also, unfortunately, kids, alcohol will not be allowed, so get that tailgating in early.
