‘Batman vs. Superman’ Warner Bros. registers possible titles for the film

Ever since the project was initially announced there has been speculation on what the official title of the film would be. Everything from Man of Steel 2 to the simple World’s Finest has been thrown out there as a possibility.

It looks like the speculation may be getting ready to kick into high gear with a plethora of new options. According to Fusible, Warner Bros. secretly registered a number of potential titles through the internet brand protector MarkMonitor.

Now, the list has grown to include “Man of Steel: Battle the Knight”, “Man of Steel: Darkness Falls”, “Man of Steel: Knight Falls”, “Man of Steel: Beyond Darkness”, “Man of Steel: Black of Knight”, “Man of Steel: Shadow of the Night”, “Man of Steel: The Blackest Hour”, and “Man of Steel: The Darkness Within”.

They’ve also registered shortened versions like “Battle the Night”, “Beyond Darkness”, “Knight Falls”, :Black of Knight”, and “The Blackest Hour”.

Director Zack Snyder’s follow up to this year’s Man of Steel currently has Henry Cavill returning to his role as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, and Ben Affleck as the bat himself.

The film, scheduled to be released in 2015, is still in the very early stages of filming. Any one of these titles, or many none of them, may become the title of the new Man of Steel follow up.

If you had to choose, what would you want the Batman vs. Superman movie to be named?

The Batman vs. Superman film is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2015.
